Troubleshooting: Migrating Student Data to Another Class

Teachers and administrators can transfer student data between class rosters within the same organization. This is especially useful when a student completes work in one Sirius class and is later moved to another, whether it's with a different teacher or it’s a new section with the same instructor.

The data migration process transfers the student’s completed assignment data to the new class, ensuring that the new teacher can access all submitted work and performance records. The student also retains access to their assignments for continued review within the new class environment.

To migrate a student’s data, follow the instructions below.

Teachers

  1. Navigate to the Classes tab on the dashboard.
  2. Click Roster on the class card of the student’s new class.
  3. Click Migrate Data for that student.

Administrators

  1. Navigate to the Classes tab on the dashboard.
  2. Search for the student’s new class by class name or by teacher.
  3. Click Roster on the class card of the student’s new class.
  4. Click Migrate Data for that student.

Notes
The Migrate Data feature only applies to completed assignments. Assignments that are not submitted, incomplete, or still in progress will not be transferred.
