Sirius Online Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Sirius Online Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The following FAQs and responses aim to provide quick, easy to digest information relating to Sirius Online.

Getting Started with Sirius Online

1. My classes are missing. Can you help me get them added?

If you are a teacher in a school or district who rosters via Clever, ClassLink, or EdLink, you should reach out to your course coordinator, IT support, or your Clever, ClassLink, or EdLink administrator. Your IT team will need to update rosters to share your data with us.

If your school or district uses self-registration, you should ask for a Teacher Access Code from your Sirius Coordinator (or your course coordinator) and follow instructions for self-registration and class creation at this link.

2. How do I add a Sirius Online course or a custom assessments folder to my classes?

There are two methods for adding content to classes in Sirius. The first allows you to quickly assign content to multiple classes; the second allows you to add one or more courses or assessment folders of content to a single class.

Adding Content to Multiple Classes—Use this method to save time in adding the same course to multiple sections of the same subject.

    1. Click the Content tab at the top of your dashboard.
    2. Locate the Course or Assessment folder content that you would like to add to multiple classes (e.g., different sections of the same class).
    3. On the Course or Assessment folder card, click the ellipses (...) to reveal a menu.
    4. Click Add to Class, and then check the boxes representing each of the classes where the content is to be added.
    5. Click Add.

Adding Content to a Single Class—Use this method to save multiple courses or assessment folders to a single class.

    1. Click the Add Content button on the class card beneath your class name.
    2. Choose the + Add Content button in the upper-right corner of the page.
    3. Select content by clicking or checking the checkbox to the left of each course or assessment folder you plan to add to your class.
    4. Then, click Save.

Your content will be added to your class and will appear on your class card in the courses link.

 3. How do I add a co-teacher to my class?

First, locate the co-teacher access code in class settings (access by clicking the class settings link on your class card). Copy and share the co-teacher access code with intended teachers.

Co-teachers will then navigate to sirius.content2classroom.com and click Register. They then will need to paste the co-teacher access code into the text field. This is a separate profile for co-teacher access and is not affiliated with your rostered account via ClassLink, Clever, EdLink, etc.

NotesNote: If co-teachers receive a message that their email address is already in use, have them add a +1 before the @ symbol (ex. firstlast+1@example.com).

At self-registration districts or schools, self-registered co-teachers can join a second or subsequent class by clicking Join a Class.

At rostered districts, co-teachers who self-register must use the self-registration method for each class they plan to participate in as co-teachers; that said, it is highly recommended that all co-teachers be rostered via Clever, ClassLink, or EdLink at those districts who SSO into rostered classes.

 4. How many co-teachers can there be in one class?

Sirius educators can add as many co-teachers to a class as they desire. However, we do recommend that a manageable number of co-teachers be rostered via Clever, ClassLink, or Edlink. With a rostered district, we do not advise adding a co-teacher to more than one class as they’ll need to go through multiple self-registrations and credential sets to be able to access more than one class.

5. How do I control accommodations?

Teachers and administrators can control and adjust student accommodations by selecting the Accommodations link on each of their class cards; co-teachers cannot. There are two sets of accommodations: the Designated Supports, which are set for all tests and custom assessments, and the UDL Supports, which are set for all Sirius Online lessons and practice activities.

6. Is there a guide to help me use Sirius Online?

Administrators: General

12. As an administrator, what can I do in Sirius Online?

As an administrator, you can view all current and archived schools, users (admins, teachers, students), content, classes, reports, support, and notifications.

Your main goal for using your administrator dashboard is for report viewing at the district, school, and class levels. This includes access to Course Performance, Usage, and Engagement reporting at the class level, as well as access to Standards Performance, Usage, and Progress reports.

Districts who purchase Sirius STAAR Assessment Bank and Test Builder (SSAB & TB) can access test banks, prebuilt checkpoint and practice tests, along with having the ability to create tests using Test Builder.

13. What functions can I not complete as an administrator?

Even though admins can set class accommodations and view reports by class under the Class tab—along with managing records under Users at self-registration districts—admins must make themselves co-teachers in order to assign, score, or manage assignments if they are charged with supporting classes during temporary absences.

14. Do you offer administrator training?

Sirius provides both eLearning modules and live training for administrators who have completed our SES 101: Introduction to Sirius Online (for teachers).
