How Administrators Can Make Themselves a Co-Teacher in any Class
School and district administrators with a Sirius Online account can assign
themselves as co-teachers to any class within their organization. This
capability allows administrators to support instruction directly, monitor
student progress, and assist with classroom management or data migration tasks.
Co-teacher access includes visibility into assignments, grades, and student
activity—making it a valuable tool for collaborative oversight and
instructional support.
Navigate
to the Classes tab.
Locate
the class to be added as a co-teacher in, and click Roster.
Click Make
me a Co-Teacher.
Once these steps are completed, the administrator
will be officially added as a co-teacher for the selected class. This
designation grants them full access to class materials, student data, and
assignment tracking—enabling them to actively support instruction, monitor
progress, and assist with classroom management or data migration as needed.

For administrators to then act as the class
co-teacher, they will need to click Switch
Role under their Profile Icon
and select Teacher. As a teacher,
you will see classes in which you have made yourself a co-teacher.
If the Switch Role option isn’t visible, try logging out of your account
and logging back in. This often refreshes your permissions and restores missing
options.
In rostered districts using
platforms like Clever, ClassLink, or EdLink, administrator-assigned co-teacher
access is temporary. This access
typically lasts for 24 hours or
until the next scheduled data sync with your rostering provider.
Because most districts manage
co-teacher roles at the user data level,
any updates made during daily syncs—such as role changes or roster
adjustments—can override manual assignments.
