Sirius Online System Requirements

Sirius Online, STAAR Formative Assessment Bank and STAAR Summative Assessment Bank are online applications that can be accessed on a variety of devices and operating systems, although a recent computer, laptop, Chromebook, or tablet with Chrome browser is highly recommended.

Supported Devices

Sirius Digital Products can be used on the following devices:
  1. Computers using Windows 10 or higher or the Mac operating system (OS)
  2. Chromebooks
  3. Tablets (iOS or Android) with a display of 7.5” or greater, including iPads 

Supported Browsers

For optimal performance, we recommend utilizing current versions of the following supported browsers:
  1. Google Chrome (latest or most recent version)—Chrome is our recommended browser.
  2. Firefox (latest or most recent version).
  3. Safari 10 or higher.

Network

For best performance, we recommend networks/WiFi Access Points with bandwidth/connections speeds of at least 1 Mbps per student. Up to 5 Mbps per student is preferred. To view your network’s performance, please visit http://www.speedtest.net and perform a speed test. Be sure to seek information about the number of end users the Access Point is configured to handle as well as the limitations of networks that have more simultaneous end users.

  2. PDF viewer application—Adobe Reader 10 or greater
  3. Cookies enabled
Note: 
  1. Please be sure to clear caches and cookies regularly by using the All time/Beginning of time setting. Include the clearing of cookies and other site data as well as cached images and files. 
  2. Sirius carries out monthly releases that may require cache clearing every month or so for best performance, or when irregularities appear. 
  3. Notice of the dates and times of our monthly releases (including new features and bug fixes) appear in Notifications > Messages.

Whitelist

Add the following URLs to your whitelist to prevent display or firewall issues:
  1. *.content2classroom.com 
  2. wiris.net
  3. desmos.com
  4. cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/mathjax
  5. .zoho.com
  6. .zohodesk.com
  7. *.speechstream.net 
  8. *.texthelp.com 

Notes:
  1. Special video tutorials and walkthroughs are available for use from both within your firewall (.content2classroom.com, when whitelisted) or via youtube.com, which may not be whitelisted within your district or school firewall. Please use YouTube links if you would like better streaming to your phone or home network, especially if YouTube is blocked at school. In many cases, you will be able to view the same video clips within eLearning modules as well (they will function well within your firewall as long as our whitelist is applied).
  2. Some browser extensions and student-monitoring applications may interfere with some functionality within Sirius Digital Products. If you spot irregular “glitches” or “blips,” please report them to Tech Support. We can assist in identifying potential problems or blockers, along with possible remedies and workarounds. All district environments vary, so we greatly appreciate your patience and participation in any troubleshooting that is required to get you to optimal performance.
